Invisible – and my first dream interpretation

30.9.2016

It has been 3.5 years since Dad passed away, but this dream and all of its details have never once left my mind. I had just come back to Tokyo from the Far East of Russia while Dad was still travelling around Moscow and St. Petersburg, attending conferences. We heard about his collapse the day before and this was the dream I had in the morning when he left this world behind: 5:30am Moscow time, September 30th, 2016. And this is my first attempt to decode any of my dreams.

M.J.

30.5.2019

Before going on to the next destination in our Southeast Asian trip with my family, we took a short break in a house where we met Michael. It was a room of white-painted walls, and he was sitting in front of a small window overlooking the vast landscape beneath, talking with two girls. His memory seemed to be quite vague, which later I would discover why, and yet when it came to his passions, he spoke very fluently and passionately.

Diamond-shaped-eyed girl

4.5.2019

A professor whom I seemed to know invited me to his house which was a complex structure with many buildings. It was strange for him to invite me, since we were not in a very good term.

When I was trying to find my way in his estate, he came to greet me with a small child hiding behind his legs. He smiled at me, but somehow it only made me feel uneasy. As I approached, the child came fully into sight, and my heart jumped out of my chest when I saw her looking directly at me: both the sclera and iris of her diamond-shaped eyes were so black they seemed to absorb all light, leaving only her pupil white.

The silent chaos

11.3.2019

It looked like I was the owner of a spacious live music pub, though I didn’t seem to be too interested in it. I stood at the back of the room, separating myself from the crowd, looking up to the dazzlingly lit stage with great indifference. No sound was made, and everything seemed to happen in slow motion.

Then, a normal movement appeared at the corner of my eyes when two people approached me. Possibly they were the members of the family, and were a couple. They were taking with them three little dogs in leashes to go for a walk, and so I joined them and we stepped out into the night air. The streets were calm at first, but I could soon feel the dramatic change in the number of vehicles, and suddenly, there were all kinds of trucks and buses and cars all around us. Still, no sound was made.

The lost things

21.2.2019

The first scene was quite a fuzzy memory, where the image came to me through a screen of dazzling white light. I saw people everywhere, mostly families, a lot of children, faces brightened with smiles and happiness; and we were one of them. Gradually the landscape got clearer, sharper, and with more colours, and I saw that we were at an amusement park, my parents and I.

Somewhere feels like home

Date unknown

It was long ago so I can’t quite tell when, but on one early morning, somewhere between sleep and awake, on my bed in Hanoi, I dreamt of teleporting back to that old flat in Chiba, Japan, where I used to share with my friend. It was a bright winter day when snow covered every surface it could find. Such a rare sight for this part of Kanto. I dressed all in black, and everything else was in monotone. Well, there are not many colours to see in winter anyway.
